Ghosts (2022–2023) is a multidimensional story about truth of who we are and who we could be. What is an identity and how easy is it to fake? The project stems from real memory issues that artist has struggled with for many years. To materialize fading memories, she obsessively documented reality. As she organized the photos in her archive, she noticed that certain themes repeated themselves, especially with people shown from behind. Their backs became temporal and spatial reference points for the fading memory. Without interfering with the privacy of the depicted people, the artist decided to (re)create their faces using artificial intelligence, which, like memory, draws on existing resources to create an overall image. Apparently, the human brain is incapable of creating anything new and everything is a product of images we have already seen. Although the artist could not remember the faces, the version created by the AI became believable to her, not artificial, adding a personal dimension to the images of her "memory substitutes".
