EX
2025
A project combining photography, video, and sculptural works, with dust as its central material – treated not only as substance, but as a vessel of memory and lingering presence.
From this fragile matter, forms take shape – evoking the vegetal, the bodily, the domestic – and tracing the broader circulations of matter through nature.
Among the works are hand-built models of plant species once native to Poland, now extinct – marked EX in the Polish Red Data Book of Plants. These reconstructions serve as quiet monuments to what has vanished.
Other pieces expand the scope, contemplating disappearance, order, recurrence, and transformation – processes shared by both organic life and the rhythms of daily existence.
The project intertwines persistence with impermanence, structure with dissolution – proposing that in nature, nothing is ever truly lost, only reshaped.
EX premiered in 2025 at the Centre of Contemporary Art in Toruń, under the patronage of the Institute of Nature Conservation, Polish Academy of Sciences.
