Still, voyeuristic close-ups capture a woman seen through the gaze of an obsessively watching, enamored figure. The image is accompanied by sound: an intimate female voice reading a passage from Joanna Brach-Czaina’s book Membranes of the Mind, describing the intensity of sensations evoked by observing a mallow flower [pol. malwa]—sensations so vivid and corporeal they verge on the erotic, suffused with a quiet, romantic longing.

In Polish, both Dalia and Malwa are feminine names, as well as names of flower species.

In the film’s opening credits, it is revealed that Dalia is the name of the actress portraying the observed woman.
